Our Perspective

We create outdoor living spaces that are an extension of your home

The Vision Behind Verbena Landscape & Design

Verbena Landscape & Design is the creative vision of Megan Isaac, an innovative landscape designer with over 20 years of experience. Growing up in New Zealand, she was deeply influenced by the country’s stunning natural environment—where the sea, mountains, and outdoor lifestyle shaped her distinctive design approach.

Before pursuing her passion for landscape design, Megan worked as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner, managing acute injuries. This experience gave her a deep appreciation for the importance of creating spaces that nourish the soul, connect with nature, and provide spaces for the enjoyment of life with friends and family.

A Unique Approach to Outdoor Living

Megan’s designs at Verbena Landscape & Design focus on alfresco entertainment and outdoor living, crafting spaces that seamlessly extend the home into nature. By blending contemporary, clean lines with timeless, traditional elements, she creates unique and inviting landscapes tailored to each client's personality and lifestyle.

A Passion for Community and Restoration

Beyond her professional work, Megan is a passionate sailing enthusiast and community volunteer. She played a key role in revitalising the TCYC Dinghy Training Centre, a vital hub where both adults and children learn to sail. Once in disrepair, the clubhouse was rebuilt through fundraising efforts and the dedication of a talented group of retired sailors. Megan and her team at Verbena Landscape & Design transformed the surrounding landscape, making it a beautiful and functional space for all who love the sea.

She also undertook a voluntary commission to design a therapeutic hospital garden at Edenbridge Hospital, incorporating planting borders to enhance beauty, biodiversity, and overall well-being.

Award-Winning Achievements

Megan's expertise with plants has been recognised at the Chelsea Flower Show, where she was part of an Award-Winning Team. In 2003, she planted up the entire garden for Mark Gregory's "Helped the Aged" garden, which earned a Silver Gilt medal, enduring rain, wind, and sun alongside fellow designer Joe Chance. In 2006, she collaborated with David Craig, a master craftsman, and Chanceblisset, a garden designer whose commercial stand for exquisite outdoor oak furniture won Best in Show.

Megan Isaac continues to inspire with her passion for landscape design, transforming spaces into harmonious outdoor sanctuaries that celebrate nature, craftsmanship, and human connection.
