This family cottage garden home was recently renovated in both traditional and contemporary style. The brief was to ‘bring the inside out’ so the garden was enhanced by two large, entertaining terraces using sandstone paving and inter-connecting pathways.
The contemporary timber & wire pergola, a key feature of the main terrace, gives it a Mediterranean feel, adding structural interest as well as framing focal points down the garden which blends the perimeter of the garden with soft shimmering grasses and wild flowers. A wilder area was created further with an orchard, hedges and dry stone walling.
Willow fences with pleached Hornbeam trees above allows views but maintains privacy from neighbours. Dry stone walls complete and enhance various planting areas. The gardens are an abundance of colourful perennials and grasses with splashes of colour from alliums and seasonal treats.
The terraces offer space where you can relax and entertain – a perfect extension for this cottage garden home.
